The Medical Instrument Technician (MIT) is a member of the surgical team and aids the physician, nurse manager, registered nurse, and other team members during diagnostic examinations or medical treatment procedures as part of the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The MIT reports to Surgical Services nurse manager and participates with surgical team members in planning and implementing complex procedures under the general supervision of the physician, nurse manager, and registered nurse. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
