This position is located within the Research and Development (R&D) Service at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI. This position is fully responsible for managing clinical tests, collecting data, recruiting and managing subjects for clinical trials and providing high-level technical support of research projects. BASIC EDUCATION REQUIREMENT - Bachelor's or higher degree with the major study in an academic field related to health sciences research. Specialized experience is health science research program experience that included all or most of the following: Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and criteria for the administration of a health science research program; Performing data collection and monitoring protocol; Coordinating research projects or clinical studies; Recruiting candidates for clinical research studies; Performing complex analytical studies and interpreting results to coordinate the evaluation of medical/scientific programs and policies and to recommend improvements; Utilizing knowledge of regulations involving human subjects research and good clinical practice including extensive knowledge of single-site or small, medium or large multi-site clinical research administration; Applying knowledge of documentation required by Institutional Review Boards (IRB) to prepare IRB documentation and completing annual reviews; and Conducting interviews of human study subjects using various methods of data collection. Assist supervisor with managing the routine, day-to-day activities and administration of research projects. Conduct quality assurance evaluations for project data and clinical research instruments. Monitor project progress and timelines. Manage participant compensation, maintain compensation records and prepare invoices or electronic funds transfer for reimbursement. Gathers statistical and narrative data on project status, including resource utilization, statistical data on participation, adherence to protocols on matters such as participant education, control of data, and other similar matters.
