Occ Summary
A Central Sterile Processing Technician, Certifie d is responsible forcleaning, decontamination, assembly, and high-level disinfection of allreusable medical instrumentation. Maintains high stan dards consistencyand continuous product flow between the OR and Sterile Processing.Responsible for maintaining adequate supply levels in sterile storagearea, rotating stock as appropriate pulling case carts for the d ailysurgical schedule.
Work Performed
Cleans, deconta minates, assembles, and disinfects scope trays andequipment following es tablished tray lists and manufacturesrecommendations.Maintains communica tion with customers and departments regardingrequests and delivery of st erile supplies.Promotes best practice by demonstrating a commitment to q uality patientcare.Performs assigned duties to maintain unit in a state of survey readinessand maintain quality initiatives. For example quality control measures,emergency equipment checks, and department cleanliness .Uses the computerized instrument tracking system in the performance ofa ssigned duties, obtaining instrument count sheets, obtaining specialhand ling instructions for instrumentation documenting sterilizationloads, an d other assigned tasks.Adheres to unit programs to support patient care such as maintaining aquiet environment and customer service.Efficient an d punctual distribution of case carts, equipment, and statsupplies to th e OR and Maintain sterility and or cleanliness accordingto hospital prot ocol.Maintain accurate log for equipment out for repair.Tests operationa l efficiency of Instrumentation prior to reprocessingand reports problem s to appropriate leadership.Maintains a clean and orderly central proces sing area (e.g. shelves,counters, equipment)May assist with teaching of new hires and work as resource person forother staff as well as other un its in hospital.Performs other related duties incidental to the work des cribed herein.
