The Housekeeping Technician / Floor Technician is responsible for floor care duties in the adult hospital. The candidate must have one year of previous experience operating floor care machines. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week).
Positions on the following shifts:
1st shift - hours 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
2nd shift - hours 3:00 p.m.-11:30 p.m.
You are required to work every other weekend in this position and rotating holidays.
$1,000 sign on bonus will be available to those who have not worked fulltime at VUMC for the past 1 year.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Floor care - stripping and waxing floors (detailed)
Cleans assigned area according to established procedures
Uses chemicals and supplies appropriately and correctly
Reports light outages and other maintenance needs to supervisor
Uses buffers, extractors, side-by-side, and vacuums safely and correctly
Uses buckets, wringers, and other non-electrical equipment correctly
Cleans and maintains equipment daily to ensure correct and proper operation
Collects soiled linen and pillows in public waiting areas
Greets visitors cheerfully and offers assistance as needed
Interfaces with other staff in a friendly, professional manner
Previous experience not required.
