Position Summary: The Endoscopy (GI) Tech works as a team member and is responsible for providing support to the Gastroenterology Clinics by cleaning, sterilizing, and packaging instruments, maintaining inventory, transporting supplies and equipment, meeting and greeting patients and their families, taking routine vital signs, and preparing rooms before and after procedures and clinic visits. This position works under direct supervision of the GI nurse manager or designee. Work situations require skill in GI procedures, transporting, organization of time and equipment and independent decision-making related to daily operations. Major decisions are subject to the review and approval of the Manager Surgical Services. Internal contacts occur daily and may include management, patient care staff and Materials Management staff. External contacts may include physicians, patients, and families.
Minimum Requirements: 1 year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Education/Licenses/Certifications: High School graduate or equivalent preferred Active WA Certified Nursing Assistant Licensure required Must apply for Medical Assistant-Registered within 7 days of hire, and obtain within 60 days BLS Certification required
