Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time Perfusion Technician for the Cardiac services department at Morristown Medical Center. The shift for the role is mon - fri dayshift. Overnight and weekend call as needed.
Responsibilities
Job Functions: 01. Build and prime perfusion related devices including, but not limited to: Cellsaver/Autotransfusion, Heart/Lung machine, PRP, BMAC 02. Ensures appropriate set up and break down of equipment in cardiac operating rooms. 03. Provide autologous blood recovery and biologic therapy as required 04. Manages perfusion supplies and equipment inventory at all AHS hospitals. 05. Collect clinical samples and deliver to lab for processing. 06. Maintain optimal communication, close cooperation, and consultation with perfusionist and physicians during delivery of services 07. Assist with the transport of equipment and gain understanding of new equipment or processes, where applicable 08. Maintain proficiency with the operation and maintenance of a variety of autologous blood equipment and procedures such as autologous cell salvage, production of concentrated platelet rich plasma 09. Maintain appropriate, timely, and accurate documentation including pre-procedure checklist and filing of all records 10. Assist in the education, orientation, and training of new staff 11. Supports hospitals throughout the AHS network, as needed. 12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education and/or Experience: * Associates Degree in Health Science and/or Certification from Technical School Program * Minimum of 2 years of related hospital perfusion services experience or related manufacturer experience and/or demonstrates equivalent proficiencies * Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and chemistry * Basic knowledge of hospital operations and regulatory requirements (as applicable)
