Leads the Computed Tomography team, overseeing and coordinating daily clinical operations. Performs scheduled exams in areas of competency and assists in other areas as needed and proficient. Will work closely with technologists, radiologists, referring physicians and clerical staff to assure optimum quality control. Efficient coordination of activities, high quality diagnostic exams and patient satisfaction. Will be actively involved in planning, directing, and controlling resources, people and materials. Will oversee staffing assignments, workflow, and exam scheduling to assure efficiency. Assists Director of Radiology in completion of performance appraisals and evaluations of technologists, documenting disciplinary issues and recommending appropriate actions to Director. Ensures compliance with all Regulatory standards (JCAHO, Federal, State, ACR), organizational policies and procedures, as well as patient care protocols. Exam protocols must be monitored continuously and stored in machines with correct parameters. Exam protocols are reviewed annually by radiologists. Active involvement in ACR submissions. Monitors quality, patient care and safety for all patient age ranges, from neonate to geriatric. Monitors dose index ensuring exams are within 20% of ACR guidelines. Maintains performance improvement activities and participates in meetings and activities as assigned. Ensures competency of all assigned personnel and oversees efficient and effective operations. Collaborates with Director of Radiology and Medical Physicist in developing annual safety training for CT technologists. Assists Director in formulating and maintaining productivity standards and budgetary compliance. Administrative duties include regular reporting of progress and adherence to all standards and goals.

Qualifications
·      Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients
·      Responsible for safe handling of equipment.
·      Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic and/or fluoroscopic examinations.
·      Assesses patient’s understanding of process and informed consent of invasive procedures.
·      Assesses, evaluates and informs physician of changes in patient’s condition during exam.
·      Works under the direction of the Radiologist at all times.
·      Selects appropriate equipment to use for procedure.
·      Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.
·      Performs highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed examination; documents and deviation. Understands contraindications and potential hazards of different exams.
·      Performs all quality control checks, maintains accurate QC logs as prescribed.
·      Sends all information to PACS efficiently and effectively.
·      Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
·      Assists in maintaining basic records and reports.
·      Assists in maintaining files.
·      Assists in training of students and ancillary personnel.Â
·      Takes CT call and works the appropriate weekend according to monthly schedule after the closing of the regular department hours.

·      Must possess knowledge of hospital policies and the functions of the other departments
·      Practices continuing Infection Control with proper equipment and room cleaning, in order to provide a safe environment for all patients, at all times.
·      Maintains regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and JC regulations related to the Radiology Services Department and, as appropriate, to the facility.
·      Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
·      Wears identification and dosimeter while on duty
·      Participates in CQI activities and clerical responsibilities, as needed.
Education Experience/Qualification:
·      Graduate of an approved school of Radiology Sciences with certification in diagnostic radiography. Licensed as a Registered Radiologic Technologist by the State of Ohio and registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with secondary certification in Computed Tomography (CT).Â
·      Experience in overseeing staff and modality function
·      Has worked at least (5) years in department with diagnostic and advanced imaging experience.
