Leads theX-rayandMammographyteams, overseeingand coordinatingdailyclinical operations. Performs scheduled exams in areas of competency and assists inother areas as needed and proficient.Will workcloselywithtechnologists,radiologists,referringphysiciansand clerical stafftoassureoptimumqualitycontrol,efficient coordination ofactivities, high quality diagnostic exams and patient satisfaction.Will be actively involvedinplanning, directing and controlling resources, people and materials.Will oversee staffing assignments,workflow andexamschedulingtoassureefficiency.AssistsDirector ofRadiologyincompletionofperformanceappraisalsandevaluationsoftechnologists,documentingdisciplinaryissuesandrecommendingappropriateactionstoDirector. Ensurescompliancewith all RegulatoryStandards(JCAHO,Federal,State,ACR),organizational policies andprocedures,aswellaspatientcareprotocols.Examprotocolsmustbemonitoredcontinuouslyandstoredinmachinewith correct parameters.Exam protocols are reviewed annually by radiologists.Active involvement in ACRsubmissions.Monitors quality, patient care and safety for all patient age ranges, from neonate togeriatric.Maintainsperformanceimprovementactivitiesandparticipatesinmeetingsandactivitiesas assigned.  Ensurescompetencyofall assigned personnel and oversees efficient and effective operations. Maintains department's radiation safetyprogram.AssistsDirectorinformulatingandmaintainingproductivitystandardsandbudgetarycompliance. Administrative duties include regular reporting of progress and adherence toall standards and goals.At least 4 hoursweekly ofofficetime willbeallottedtocompletetasks.
Qualifications
·      Responsible for safe handling of equipment.
·      Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic/mammographic and/or fluoroscopic examinations.
·      Assesses patient’s understanding of process and informed consent of invasive procedures.
·      Assesses, evaluates and informs physician of changes in patient’s condition during exam.
·      Works under the direction of the Radiologist at all times.
·      Selects appropriate equipment to use for procedure.
·      Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.
·      Performs special radiographic/mammographic examinations requiring special equipment and procedures such as: intravenous pyelograms, intravenous cholangiograms, hysterosalpingograms, tomograms, cholangiography, arthrograms, myelograms, hip pinnings in surgery, needle localizations and stereotactic biopsies.
·      Programs portable or stationary x-ray machines and produces radiographs/mammograms for a variety of examinations.
·      Sends all information to PACS efficiently and effectively.
·      Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
·      Assists in maintaining basic records and reports.
·      Assists in maintaining files.
·      Assists in training of students and ancillary personnel.
·      Takes x-ray call and works appropriate weekend according to monthly schedule after the closing of the regular department hours.

·      Must possess knowledge of hospital policies and the functions of the other departments
·      Practices continuing Infection Control with proper equipment and room cleaning, in order to provide a safe environment for all patients, at all times.
·      Maintains regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and JCAHO regulations related to the Radiology Services Department and Mammography as appropriate, to the facility.
·      Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
·      Wears identification and dosimeter while on duty
·      Participates in CQI activities and clerical responsibilities, as needed.

Education Experience/Qualification:
·      Graduate of an approved school of Radiology Sciences with certification in diagnostic radiography. Licensed as a Registered Radiologic Technologist by the State of Ohio and registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with secondary certification in Mammography (MA).Â
·      Experience in overseeing staff and modality function
·      Has worked at least (5) years in department with diagnostic and advanced imaging experience.
