The role you’ll contribute:
Applies paints, stains, and other surface treatments to structural surfaces and property. Prepares surfaces by washing, scraping, sanding, torching and/or smoothing prior to applying finishing materials. Provides on the job skills training. Assists other trades as needed.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
· Replace sheetrock, tape and float, paint all interior and exterior surfaces, and do minor carpenter work
· Applies protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer and related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, furniture, equipment and other property
· Maintains existing paint surfaces by matching/tinting appropriate paint products
· Properly stores, cleans and disposes of all supplies and equipment used per departmental policies and procedures
· May assist in operation and general maintenance of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, locksmith, and alarm systems. Assist in essential repairs and other duties as carried out
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
· Extensive knowledge of various paints, chemicals and combinations available for use
· Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
· Must have the ability to document records neatly and accurately
· Ability to generate requisitions for materials and supplies
· Ability to assign priority and teams in a timely manner
· Ability to instruct others as per blueprints and work from sketches
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form
· Ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exist
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumes
· Knowledge of safe handling tools and equipment
· Basic Microsoft office computer skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· High School Education or GED
· Two years of maintenance experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
· Journeyman License
· Valid Driver’s License
