Medical Technologist (Generalist) Days
The Medical Technologist serves as a generalist with responsibility for performing procedures in all areas of the laboratory to include chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, immuno-hematology, and microbiology. The generalist either works in a specific department or rotates with other generalists through the above mentioned areas. Performs testing on a variety of biological specimens and/or environmental samples using manual or automated techniques. Monitors quality control systems and measures. Collaborates in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Provides education for laboratory and other healthcare professionals.
